Suffering in Silence

“Suffering in Silence,” was a multimedia webpage that I made using WordPress for an assignment from when I was a print and online journalism student at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). I chose the subject of depression using text, audio recordings, video, photos, and an interactive infographic to tell a story portraying how it feels to experience depression.

When it comes down to it everyone experiences depression at least at one point of their lives.

Would you like to know what is really depressing? Try having the webpage which you worked hard on and worked day and night pouring your heart and soul into suddenly disappearing.

We all experience it. Depression gets us down, but you can’t let it dictate how you live your life.

Everything feels hopeless. It is like everything is the end of the world when you are depressed.

Like the weight of the world rests on your shoulders.

Depression at its finest prevents us from having theemotional energyto persevere and get work done.

When depression hits it is normal to lose the will to care. Motivation at an all time low, but deep down you know that you can’t let it get to you.

If you let it win you lose the will to live and that is a deep and treacherous hole that is difficult to come back from.

I also made the same post on Instagram and Twitter, but didn't recieve any responses.

Below are a few of the responses I got:
