Poem: Remember When…

Remember that time we pretended that we were drunk,

The time we rented that hotel room with the tiny bunk,

When we went boating on the lake on a Wednesday after school to cheer

me up and we reminisced the time my sandwich got stolen by a duck,

Got caught in a wind storm and laughed for a time cause we got stuck,

I want to remember, because I’m starting to forget,

I don’t want to have to live with  more regret,

All the times we’ve shared I want to keep inside,

I’m writing this down so they will be able to further reside,

Remember when we talked about what was next,

But, once again got interrupted by another text,

Remember all the good times and the bad,

The times when we weren’t happy nor sad,

Remember all the time where we thought we were down on our luck,

The gas station where I first learned the word F***,

Those times where we would go out and just drive,

The midnights at  McDonald’s when we didn’t know whether we really wanted to be alive,

That time I stormed out of the house and met our neighbours and we were having a fight,

Those New Years we stayed up but you fell asleep before it struck midnight,

The time we almost skidded off that cliff near Jasper and the times I talked us out of disaster,

The memories are fading faster,

Remember when…

Remember when…

Remember when…
