Poem: Remembrance Day

The sun loses it is glower,

At the sight of this well known vermillion  flower,

Like some sort of crests,

Emblazoned on our chests,

In Flanders fields they grow,

Regardless of what happened so long ago,

Let us take a moment to remember what we lost,

Don’t forget what it once cost,

It is the day we try to remember,

On this fateful day in November,

We can’t forget,

Our heroes, our family, our friends,

No room for regret,

How we honour them it depends,

Heroes of old and new,

Albeit so very few,

So we stifle our cries,

On each chest a poppy lies,

On the eleventh of November,

We try to honour and remember.
